Pleasanton ISD HOSA

Students from Pleasanton High School’s HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) program recently demonstrated their leadership and commitment to community health by presenting at the district’s School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) meeting.

Presenters Aileen Cerecedes Morales, Mya Garcia, Jazlyn Robles, and Roland Zavala shared important information on emergency preparedness. Their presentation highlighted key strategies for families, including building disaster supply kits, developing family emergency plans, and registering for the STEAR (State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry) program, which helps local emergency management planners provide assistance during emergencies.

As part of their HOSA involvement, these students are working in partnership with the Medical Reserve Corps, gaining hands-on experience while promoting public health awareness in the community.

Pleasanton ISD recognizes these students for their initiative and professionalism. The district also extends its appreciation to HOSA Advisor Modesta Peralta Summers for her continued leadership and dedication to student success. We are proud of our Pleasanton High School HOSA students for stepping up as leaders in community health and safety!
