District Library Services

At Pleasanton ISD, we are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for every student. We also recognize the important role parents and guardians play in guiding their child’s educational journey.

We are pleased to introduce new parental control features in our online library catalog, Follett Destiny.

With these tools, parents and guardians can:

  • Browse their child’s school library collection

  • View current checkouts

  • Restrict access to materials they feel are not the right fit for their child

These features strengthen our partnership with families by allowing you to tailor your child’s library access while encouraging meaningful conversations about reading choices.

Campus librarians will also be available during Curriculum Night events to provide assistance with these new tools. Families are encouraged to stop by the library on their campus during these events for support. If you have questions at any other time, please reach out to your child’s campus librarian during school hours.

Together, we can ensure that every child’s library experience supports their growth, curiosity, and success.

Library Materials Challenge

Under Texas Education Code (TEC) §33.027, a parent, district employee, or person residing in a school district may submit a written challenge to any library material in a school’s library catalog. To submit a written challenge, an eligible individual must complete and submit the Library Materials Challenge Form. In accordance with TEC§33.027, an individual completing the form must identify how the challenged library material violates library standards adopted by the Texas State Library and Archive Commission (TSLAC).
