Pleasanton ISD is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful learning environment free from sexual harassment and discrimination. This policy outlines procedures for addressing allegations of sex-based harassment in compliance with Title IX and state law.
Definition
Sexual harassment includes:
Unwelcome sexual conduct by a district employee tied to educational benefits.
Severe, pervasive, and objectively offensive conduct that denies equal access to education.
Sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, or stalking.
Examples
Sexual advances or coercion
Inappropriate touching
Sexually explicit jokes, messages, or gestures
Unwelcome electronic communication of a sexual nature
Reporting
Students, parents, or staff may report concerns verbally, in writing, or electronically to the Assistant Superintendent of Personnel & Student Services or campus administrators. Reports are investigated promptly and confidentially.

Due process rights protected
Corrective actions taken if violations are confirmed
Consequences
Violations result in disciplinary action per the Student Code of Conduct and Employee Standards. Counseling, safety planning, and academic accommodations may be provided. Retaliation is strictly prohibited.
