Pleasanton ISD is proud to announce Ms. Sunny Meek as the new Director of Special Education. Ms. Meek brings 20 years of experience in education and a wealth of expertise in special education leadership, educational assessment, compliance and accountability, collaborative problem-solving, and team development. She holds a Master of Education in Special Education and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and Special Education, along with certifications as an Educational Diagnostician, Special Education (EC-12) teacher, and Elementary Reading and Self-Contained teacher.
Family is at the heart of everything Ms. Meek does. She is a proud mother of two children and enjoys supporting her daughter in athletics and cheer while cheering on her son, a college student with a lifelong passion for baseball. Outside of work, Ms. Meek enjoys staying active through fitness, walking, hiking, and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
When asked what excites her most about her new role, Ms. Meek shared that she looks forward to building meaningful relationships and making a positive impact on students, families, and staff across the district. She believes that when people work together with a shared purpose, incredible things can happen for students.
