Families across the district now have access to a valuable new resource designed to provide greater insight into student performance on STAAR assessments and to help support learning at home by accessing their child's STAAR results through the PISD Parent Portal.
The “STAAR Info for Parents” presentation highlights tools available through the Texas Education Agency’s Family Portal at TexasAssessment.gov, offering parents an in-depth look at their child’s academic progress and specific ways to help them grow.
Available through the TEA Family Portal, the resource provides parents with access to detailed test results, including individual scores, test questions, and their child's responses.
Families can also view explanations for correct and incorrect answers, helping them better understand student strengths and areas for improvement. In addition, the portal includes customized resources, strategies, and tools to support learning at home.
Parents are able to review writing prompts, student essays, and example high-scoring responses, offering insight into expectations and performance on written assessments.
District leaders say this increased transparency helps parents become active partners in their child’s education by providing meaningful information and practical support tools.
Families are encouraged to review their child’s results and take advantage of the available resources.
