Cheryl Barron

Mrs. Cheryl Barron

I am a native of South Texas.  I grew up in La Vernia and graduated in 1989.  I went on to Texas Tech University and earned my Bachelors Degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences in 1993.  I earned my Masters Degree in Educational Administration in 1999 from Texas A&M Kingsville and my Superintendent Certification from the University of Texas at Tyler.

I started my career in Alice, Texas as an athletic trainer and then moved on to Northeast ISD in San Antonio.  I was the athletic trainer at Roosevelt High School in San Antonio in 1995 when we won the 5A State Football Championship.  This was definitely a highlight and proud moment in my training career.  I began my administration career in 2004 and I have served as an assistant principal, principal and director.  Prior to being named the Superintendent I have been the Assistant Superintendent in Pleasanton ISD.

I am excited to be chosen to lead this outstanding school district.  I plan to work with our staff, students, families and the community to develop a comprehensive strategic plan for our district.  I am excited about this process and look forward to putting our plan into action.  The focus of Pleasanton ISD is our students and we will do whatever it takes to ensure each of them is prepared for the future.  This is a great time for Pleasanton ISD and I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds.
