Parent Liaison

Parent Liaison Bio

My name is Diane Garza, and I am so excited to be your Parent Liaison here at Pleasanton ISD.

I am a home grown Pleasanton Eagle. I am married and have two children. My oldest works for Pleasanton ISD and my youngest is attending Lincoln College of Technology in Grand Prairie, TX.

My husband and I are both PISD alumni and both our children graduated from PISD. I started working for PISD in 1984 as the Kindergarten Center Principal’s Secretary which became Pleasanton Primary School, in 2008 I transferred to the payroll department and then in 2011 I became the HS Principal’s Secretary and retired in December 2014 with 31 years of service with PISD.

After being retired for a few months I realized I missed the involvement at PISD. So I am truly excited to be back & couldn’t be happier.  I look forward to working with you as a team and to make your child successful.  I hope to encourage parents to get involved in their students education by coming to the school and communicating with PISD staff and teachers.  We will be offering trainings along with family functions that we hope you will be able to attend.

Pride! Pride!

Roles and Responsiblity

The primary role of the Parent Liaison is to empower parents to become active participants in the education of their children. The liaison does this  by encouraging parent involvement in the school, foster trust between parents and the educational community, and facilitate parent-school communication.

Parent Center

The Parent Center is a place set aside in a Title 1 school for the purpose of making the school more accessible to families and encouraging adult engagement in children’s education. The Parent Center is run, maintained and supervised by Title 1 staff and volunteers as it provides supplemental materials for parents to help their children achieve more in the core content areas of mathematics, science, social studies, reading and writing.

The Parent Center has equipment available for staff and volunteers such as: Poster Maker, copier, Die Cut Machine & various dies, cold laminator, heavy duty paper cutter, Image Projector, Cutout Maker (aka Big Cricut) and computers with printers.

The Center also provides parent trainings and workshops that will help parents gain more insight on the importance of positive parenting and student achievement.

Together We Can Make A Difference!
