Bio

Dr. Venus Vela serves as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction. She oversees the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the school district’s instructional programs. Dr. Vela has over eighteen years of experience in education. Her past experiences include working in a large, urban school district as a teacher, curriculum instructional coordinator, assistant principal and principal. Most recently, Dr. Vela served as a director of elementary and multilingual education. Dr. Vela is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio where she earned her Doctorate of Education degree in 2015.
