The Pleasanton ISD Education Foundation is hosting a fun-filled, interactive virtual fundraiser event to raise funds to enhance educational programs for Pleasanton ISD students and staff. This fundraising event, Eagles for Education, will include an online silent auction and pledge drive with numerous prize-winning opportunities.
The online auction will include 49 items from designer jewelry to all-inclusive hunts, vacation packages, gift cards, furniture and so much more. Together, the value of the items in the silent auction are worth over $42,000. The auction will be conducted through an online bidding platform from Oct. 10-17. New items will be released for bidding each day Oct. 10-14 and bidding will close at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, for all 49 items.
In addition to the online auction, the Pleasanton ISD Education Foundation will be hosting a 12-hour, interactive pledge drive on Oct. 17 from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. with a new incentive and prize every hour. The pledge drive will be broadcast live through the Pleasanton Express Facebook page where the foundation will be introducing each new incentive and announcing the winners at the top of each hour.
To get in on the live action on Oct. 17, follow the Pleasanton Express Facebook page and turn on their page notifications, so you know when they go live. The schedule for the Facebook Live Pledge Drive is as follows:
8 a.m. – This hour is sponsored by the Pleasanton Express and the Education Foundation will be going live from the Pleasanton Express. Anyone who donates $10 between 8-8:45 a.m. will be entered into a drawing for a 2-year print and digital subscription to the award-winning Pleasanton Express and a personal birthday, senior, sports or anniversary ad in their paper.
9 a.m. – This hourly challenge is designated specifically for Pleasanton High School. If the Education Foundation can raise $3,000 during this hour, the administrative team has agreed to allow their students to dress up for Halloween on Oct. 30 at the request of the PHS Student Council.
10 a.m. – This hourly challenge is sponsored by Country Girl Designs and the Foundation will be broadcasting live on site. Everyone who donates $20 during this hour will get a “Pride Pride, Eagle Pride” yard sign from Country Girl Designs.
11 a.m. – This hourly challenge is designated specifically for Pleasanton Elementary School. The Pleasanton Elementary administrative team has agreed to allow an at-school pajama party for students and staff if $2,000 are raised during this hour.
12 p.m. – This hourly challenge is sponsored by The Olive Branch. In this challenge, individuals who donate $50 during this hour will be entered into a drawing to win free flowers every month for an entire year.
1 p.m. – This hourly challenge is designed specifically for Pleasanton Junior High. Like PHS, Pleasanton Jr. High has agreed to let their students dress up for Halloween on Oct. 30, if the Education Foundation can raise $2,000 during this hour.
2 p.m. – This hour is sponsored by the PISD Athletic Department. Anyone who donates $20 during this hour will be entered in a drawing to win two All-Sports Passes for the 2021-2022 seasons. These passes are good for two free admissions to any athletic event hosted by Pleasanton ISD.
3 p.m. – This hourly challenge is designed specifically for Pleasanton Primary School. The Primary students and staff don’t usually get to have a school party for Halloween; but, with the possibility of limited trick or treating, the Primary administration wants to do something special. If the Education Foundation raises $2,000 during this hour, then teachers and students will celebrate with a Halloween party on Oct. 30 at school.
4 p.m. – Urban Bricks is sponsoring this challenge. During this hour, everyone that donates $50 will be entered in a drawing to win a free pizza every week for an entire year.
5 p.m. – This hour challenge is sponsored by HE B, who has provided one of their large, rolling Kodi coolers that will go to one lucky winner. Every person who donates $40 during this hour will be entered in a drawing to win the cooler.
6 p.m. – The Happy Dudes are sponsoring this hour. Everyone who donates $25 to the Education Foundation during this hour will get a free T-shirt from the Happy Dudes collection designed specifically for this event.
7 p.m. – The grand finale of the pledge drive is a trip to Las Vegas! Anyone who donates $100 will be entered in a drawing to win a two-night stay in Vegas.
As an extra incentive and prize-winning opportunity during the pledge drive, the foundation will be giving a $100 H-E-B gift card to the largest donor each hour.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Pleasanton ISD Education Foundation had to cancel their annual School’s Out for Summer Golf Tournament and Casino Night fundraising events. In 2019-2020, they were able to award $30,950 in scholarships to 40 deserving PHS seniors and $16,166.90 in Innovative Teaching Grants for PISD teachers and campuses because of their annual fundraising opportunities. With your participation in this event, they hope to continue to give at the same level of support this coming year.
