The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) program includes annual assessments for:

Grades 3–8 in reading and mathematics
Grades 4 & 7 in writing;
Grade 5 & 8 in science;
Grade 8 in social studies; and
End-of-course (EOC) assessments for English I, English II, Algebra I, Biology and U.S History.

Additionally, STAAR EOC assessments for English III and Algebra II will be administered on a voluntary basis beginning in Spring 2016. PISD has elected to NOT participate in the voluntary administration of the English III and Algebra II EOCs.

Pleasanton ISD uses these state assessments as ONE of many formative measures in our work to ensure all students are academically prepared for post-graduate success. Please refer to the documents below and the helpful websites link for further information. Each campus, regularly monitors student progress and provides targeted interventions to ensure every student has the best possible opportunity to succeed.
