Making Our Schools Safe
PISD is dedicated to being as prepared as possible to prevent and respond to any emergency situation in defense of the physical and emotional safety of our students. Additionally, PISD partners with the City and County officials to serve the broader Pleasanton community in the event of a large-scale emergency event. NIMS protocol will be used in all instances to support efficiency and effectiveness to the benefit of Pleasanton citizens.
The district recently conducted a successful "simulated" full scale fire drill with the Pleasanton V.F.D, Jourdanton V.F.D., Poteet V.F.D., the Pleasanton Police dept. and other emergency personnel at the Primary campus. The event demonstrated a community involvement concerning the safety of the students. The knowledge that was learned will help PISD along with local officials and volunteers to refine our emergency prepardness plans to better protect our students. Thanks to all who participated.
The district has supplied each campus office, classroom and bus with a quick reference emergency procedure guide. They will assist staff members to respond appropriately and efficiently during a crisis situation. The multi hazard guides convey information specific to the districts safety policies and emergency procedures.
