Summer Extended Hours at Pleasanton Elementary
The Elementary Library will be open from 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. from June 9th through July 2nd, courtesy of the ILP Grant.  Come in to check out books, read magazines, or use the computers!  Fun workshops will be available for 3rd and 4th graders, but REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED***. 
Register early before your choice fills up!

Bluebonnet Favorites! with Janie Engelmann

Come and enjoy listening to some of my favorite Bluebonnet Books for the 2010 – 2011 school year. Two of the books will be The Hinky Pink and That Book Woman, two great fiction books that are funny and great to read.  Celebrate by making your own fabric bookmarker or creating your own book.

If you love learning about social studies and would like to time travel through history this summer, then this program is for you!  We will be enjoying great historical fiction stories and working on many different crafts.  Also, you will get to create a presentation to share!

What do you want to be when you grow up??  Maybe a scientist, a doctor, or even a teacher?  Have you ever thought about what it takes to become that?  Join us for 2 weeks as we explore books and the web to find out about cool and interesting jobs!

Lemonade Stand with Amy Muniz  (registration required)
Let’s make money!  We’ll use the ideas from the online game, Lemonade Stand, to create our own, practicing money counting skills, estimation, budgeting, measurement and basic mathematical operations.  We’ll create reports and documents on MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.  Join us for the fun!

Have you ever wished you could change a story?  Here’s your chance!  Come and get lost in a world of adventure. 
Then learn to write your own adventure story!
